This plan is different from anything you have ever seen in two significant ways. First and foremost, it provides a unique completely private funding mechanism to finance the campaigns of statesmen-candidates who will NOT have to engage in any campaign fundraising at all. Secondly, it provides an effective means whereby We the People can set a legislative agenda that pressures office-holding career politicians to tend to put our freedom and our individual interests ahead of their own agendas.
Anything we are inclined not to believe or don't completely understand can seem complex or even impossible. Newton's Law of Gravity and E=MC2 are deceptively simple summaries because of the hundreds of pages and countless hours of inspired thinking that were able to reveal them. Restoring the Constitution is surprisingly simple and will be easy to understand after reviewing the five major and several minor components of this plan and recognizing how much political power is produced by the interactions of the various pieces and how they reinforce each other. To be assured of success, any plan or effort to restore the Constitution must deal efficiently and effectively with every issue in the bulleted list above. The pages that are linked below explain why these facts are true and how this plan effectively deals with each issue. Understanding will come quickly (about an hour, and your hour will be returned to you with dividends every hour of every day for the rest of your life, not just on paydays or every April 15th) if you will just please follow each and every link as you come to it and the links at the bottom of each page will always return you to the correct place in the plan.
It is worth repeating that the list above virtually precludes these problems from being resolved within the existing configuration of the Republican Party, but from a practical standpoint, the electoral configuration of the country will only permit a solution that is conservatively sponsored through the existing Republican framework; any third party efforts are almost certainly doomed to fail.
The plan begins by shifting the entire Republican Party slightly to the right, and then shifting it farther to the right in each successive election. In truth, the plan intends to do exactly the same to the Democratic Party. How?
Using the list above as a model, millions of conservatives and many others have already had their hearts and minds changed by listening to Rush Limbaugh;
Freedom is the right to make our own choices instead of having government limit, restrict or otherwise make them for us. The key to ending socialism is the adoption of a modified version of the Cato plan that allows every American a one time right to make their own decision about whether they want to participate in Social Security or not. IF Social Security is the be-all, end-all wonderful program that Democrats claim, it should be politically very difficult for Democrats to defend requiring mandatory participation in Social Security instead of acknowledging every American's Constitutional and God-given right to make their own retirement choices. Mandatory participation in Social Security is the Achilles Heel for the socialists. Dealing fairly and effectively with the elimination of Medicare is the second step to restoring the Constitution.
Politicians derive extra or leveraged political power through taxing and spending. If people were actually treated equally under the law as promised by the Declaration of Independence and theoretically embraced in the Constitution, politicians could not gain extra or leveraged political power from government finance. But by dividing the people into groups, politicians derive enormous power from both taxing and spending. When politicians get to decide not only who pays, but how much each group will pay, the politicians' power is leveraged immensely. The converse is true on the spending side of the ledger when politicians can decide which groups of people get money and how much money each group gets.
The beginning of the end of the United States took place with the election of Woodrow Wilson and his support for three alterations to the Constitution: the Federal Reserve Act, the Sixteenth Amendment (Income tax), and the Seventeenth Amendment. Prior to the XVIIth Amendment, true to the theory of a republic, state legislatures elected United States Senators. The Seventeenth Amendment silenced the voices of the States in Congress, gutted the Tenth Amendment and put the United States on the path to becoming a democracy. Democracy is not a four-letter word; it's worse.
It took roughly a century to bring the US to the brink. It can be snatched back in roughly a decade. There may be other people besides Rush who could lead this effort. There will certainly be no shortage of people who believe a drug addict or former drug addict should not be trusted with this kind of political power and every one of them will have somebody else in mind. There will be almost as many who will profess that the American people will never entrust any politician with this kind of power. But the simple fact is that this effort cannot be led by a politician, and it must be led by someone who is extremely politically astute. Optimally, it should be led by someone who has access to the public's ear in a way that the major media outlets cannot silence. Lastly, there is no one else who can as easily or as quickly tap the private funding sources that are immediately available to Rush. It was not the authors of this plan who recognized Rush as the best choice for this task, fate and Ronald Reagan did.
EIG and EIB can raise immense amounts of money, easily $600 million that can be spent to elect Reagan Wing candidates in every Congressional election cycle. This is money that will be spent separately and completely independently from any political party. LIACS develops the agenda and sets the issues for the Contracts with Congress and the Great Debate that our Reagan Wing candidates will present in their campaigns. Twenty million voting Americans listen to Rush every week. Between his ability to finance the Reagan Wing candidates and his ability to influence the votes of his radio audience, the leverage that Rush could exert on the rest of the Republican Party will be immense. Long-term Democratic politicians are going to be shocked at the leverage that Rush will be able to exert on younger Democratic Party candidates. Between the Reagan Wing and the Contracts, the legislative red shift will occur even more rapidly than the political Red Shift.
Not convinced? You should be because this plan has consistently been confirmed by reliable experts over the past four centuries.
Now it is your turn. At this point, if you believe that I have not met my burden of proof, you are part of the problem. Conversely, if you believe that I have successfully met my burden and that I am now the most important person on earth, then you are still not a fully competent observer. My fifteen minutes of fame are over. You have seen the light, but now you must recognize that YOU have become the most important person on earth. Widely shared knowledge and necessity can become the mother of invention. You are now a witness; use your individual initiative and ingenuity; the impossible IS possible. The torch of freedom, that sacred fire of liberty, is now being passed, first from me to you, and then in turn from you to the members of the Jury. With very little outside help, Rush Limbaugh can effectively execute this plan, but if any two of our Jurors become aware and decide their verdicts favorably, the means to execute this plan are in place with or without any other help. A unanimous verdict would almost ensure that a dark ages has been avoided and the beginning of the Reagan Renaissance is at hand. It is the Jurors who are next to become the most important people in the world, but only at the point when they are fully aware and willing to support the content of these pages. Any role for me will be limited to helping them see and understand the light (freedom and free market capitalism, not inhibited or managed, but rather properly protected by government) while they share it with the rest of the world. It is one of my greatest hopes that Messrs Buffet and Gates will recognize that the greatest gifts their foundations could bestow is not their wealth, but the light. The greatest period of prosperity and peace the world has yet to see is within reach. President Reagan was right; it is time to choose, socialism and dark ages or Capitalism and the Reagan Renaissance.
